A new frustration

Today I heard a Baptist preacher say “Simply believing is not enough for salvation”

He went on to add that “You must call upon him to be saved” taking Romans 10:10 out of context.

He also went on to add that you must repent (or be willing to repent) to be saved.

All these doctrines are biblical (found in the Bible), but if not rightly divided can be grossly misunderstood causing the hearers to miss the true Gospel which saves today. 1Cor 15:1-4, Romans 5:1, Eph 2:8-9

No doubt God has revealed that gospel of grace to Paul (Ephesians 3)

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

EPHESIANS 1:12-13
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

So “yes Baptist preacher, believing is enough.” In fact, adding anything to the gift is no longer a gift.

Jesus Christ was/is God in the flesh, He died on the cross as atonement for your/my sins. He was buried and rose again the 3rd day. Trust His work, forsake everything else.
