Ephesians 6 seems to generally talk about conduct ,instruction for the believer.
in this order:
children, parents, servants (worker / employed), masters (boss or employer or manager of employer),
Verse 10 comes back to believers, bretheren…

  • v10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
    • “be strong” , this inst optional. One does not get strong by doing nothing.
      • There is a method to getting strong, it depends on what the context is…
        • for bodybuilding its weights, diet etc… but getting stronger in ANYTHING requires that you put pressure on that thing, whether its skill, mental, physical. it needs to be trained and thought of with diligence
          • I also want[ed] to become a better programmer. This required me to study and practice often. I had to designate some time and stick with the schedule.
      • “in the Lord and in the power of his might”
        • What does that mean?
          • “in the Lord” means things which alighn with Gods word, to do practice something in the Lord has to be in accordance with what the scripture (rightly divided) instructs us in.

          • “strong in the Lord is found 1 time”

          • “strong” is a result of doing something… exercise, practice ,train, etc…

          • “in the Lord” found 118x

            • trust (ye) in the Lord found 20x

            • there are different verbs prefixed “in the Lord” they are:

          • “the power of his might”

            • finding the will of God and what he is doing now is His power, his authority… Jesus said “What saith the scripture”
            • 1CORINTHIANS 1:24
              But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
              • The Lord Jesus Christ is the power of God
              • Jesus Christ is the Word of God
                • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
              • ROMANS 16:25
                Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery,* which was kept secret since the world began,
            • Ephesians 1:19 says this power is to us-ward who believe… if you dont believe you dont have his power
              • if you read above this ref, Paul talks about knowing the hope of his calling, riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, eyes of “your” understanding be enlightened
                • Ask, What are you doing God? Study (dont forget to rightly divide truth from truth) Find out. Get onboard
                  • This is the same question that God asked Job, “your caught in the middle of something big” in Job 38

              For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
            • 2TIMOTHY 3:5
              Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
              • Denying the power of God is simply denying what God is doing today. Those who will close their ears to sound doctrine. In order to have sound doctrine, one must acknowledge what Jesus revealed to Paul. There are many churches , denominations that ignore Pauls gospel and wrongly teach that its the same as Peter’s gospel for example.
            • ACTS 6:8
              And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
              • i understand that the dispensation or economy here is different than the grace economy we’re in today, but the point here is that “full of faith” was to understand the scripture to them and obedience to it.
            • MATTHEW 22:29
              Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
              • power of God is found through knowing the scriptures, “knowing” is a large topic as well.
            • COLOSSIANS 1:11
              Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
              • a result of his power is patience and longsuffering with joy
            • 1CORINTHIANS 2:5
              That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
              • the power of God here is not found in the wisdom of men. Deduce that it is from His word understood, righly divided, and believed in the heart
            • 2THESSALONIANS 3:9
              Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
              • is your walk something others can follow, basically is your walk in accordance with Gods will for you today ?

              • Gods power is His authority, the Pharisees asked John the Baptist, “by what authority do you do these things?” John knew what Gods will for him was.
            • MATTHEW 28:18
              And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
